This is definitely the easiest hat you will ever make.
Perfect for beginners, will work for any size and
who doesn’t
like working with chunky yarn??
It’s a quick wip!
NOTE: It’s important to learn how to do Foundation Double
Crochet for this pattern.
It keeps the hat stretchy and the stitches consistent throughout.
It’s an easy stitch and once you learn it, you’ll ask yourself how you ever lived without it!

It completely skips the chain step and goes right into your
first row!
No need to worry about making your chain too tight or too loose.

FDC 18- 20 (approx.) – this should measure about 11-12” for a
good slouch, if you want the hat more slouchy – keep chaining and measure
13”-14”, also if you want to be able to flip up the bottom to create a brim, you might want it longer.
*NOTE: the chain 2 at the beginning of each row counts as the first DC, so the first DC you will do is the stitch adjacent to the chain, see picture below*

ROW 1: DC in BLO in first stich, DC in BLO
across until end of row, chain 2 and turn
ROW 2: DC in BLO until end of row, chain 2 and turn
ROW 3: Repeat ROW 2 until you’ve reached desired head
size. (if it’s for yourself, that makes it easy – just keep measuring around
your own head until it fits!)
Now you’re ready to seam it all together!
Lay it flat, fold it in half and slip stich the long end
together.
Slip Stich twice, and finish off.
Weave in ends.
Now you can seam the hat closed with a yarn needle.
This is done very easily by weaving a piece of yarn back and fourth through each stitch and then pulling it tightly to close the hat! Tie a nice double knot and cut off the ends.
