Maker friends! Can I introduce you to the easiest crochet Maxi Dress you'll ever make!?
This dress can be made to ANY size.
Beginner friendly.
Easy stitches.
It checks all the boxes!
I've always wanted to add a dress to my designs, but I wanted to make it
easy and customizable for you!
First, the yarn I used is perfect to ensure a quicker wip.
You can of course you use a lighter weight,if you have more patience than I do!
Hawthorne DK works up quickly and glides right off your hook.
I was able to finish these long panels in no time.

Now let's get to that maxi!
Notes before you begin:
-This pattern is made up of 2 very long panels that will be seamed together to create a long dress
-you can adjust your panel size by measuring the widest part of your body from your neck to your ankle (widest part for me was my upper thighs - I explained below how you can calculate this once you have the measurement)
-you can also adjust the length by adding more rows to the beginning and end of your panels
-important to note, the CH at the beginning of each row counts as your first stitch
-this dress is a loose fit (I cinched the waist with a belt)
-if you scroll to bottom of this post, I included an image that shows the repeat of the pattern, if you are a visual learner like me, just jump to that image!
-ask me any questions at anytime, email me othcrochetnook [at] gmail [.com]
Calculating your panel length:
-get yourself a measuring tape
-hold up the measuring tape across the widest part of your body (just the front)
-I measured against the front of my upper thighs, my measurement: 20"
-divide that number by 2 (mine: 20" / 2 = 10")
-So each of my panels were 10" long
-make sure to do a gauge swatch so you know exactly how many chains you will need to do to achieve the length of your panels

You will now have two long panels that should measure over or close to 100"
My panels measured 110" long.
Now we're going to seam together the panels to make the dress.
Finishing (see diagram below):
-Lay both panels side by side evenly (the panels will be folded in half eventually)
-Seam together the BLUE line (this is the back of the dress)
-Seam together the ORANGE line (this is the front of the dress, slit is optional)
-Now fold in half and seam together the (GREEN line) sides leaving armholes open (the 25 rows of sk1, ch1, dc - is where the panels fold in half and are the armholes of the dress)
-cinch the waist with a nice belt and it's done!
Can't wait to see yours!
