So the hype for Taylor Swift's viral crochet dress has slowly died but I was determined to finish it.
I really wanted to make my own version and something that could be easily made to any size.
This pattern is beginner friendly, minimal seaming, and only 3 panels!
First the yarn...I wanted a light weight cotton that wouldn't feel warm when you wear it.
Comfy worsted is the perfect mix of that, plus it's very soft and works up quickly.
I used colours: Conch, Lilac Mist, Ivory, and Thicket.

Notes before you begin:
- The top is meant to be over-sized, and the skirt portion is meant to be fitted
- You can adjust the fit once it is seamed together, as the mid portion is cinched and tied to your liking
- You will work up 3 panels: 2 panels for the top, and 1 panel for the bottom
- Top panels will be seamed halfway in the front, and halfway in the back, creating the v-neck
- Left and right sides will be seamed creating arm holes
- The skirt panel is then seamed to the bottom
- A drawstring or belt is added to create the over-sized top and fitted bottom
OTH Crochet Nook Pattern: Taylor's Crochet Dress (April's version)
Yarn: Comfy Worsted in Conch, Lilac Mist, Ivory, and Thicket
Hook: 5mm (I used Furls Streamline Wood Crochet Hook)
Scissors
Abbreviations:
Sts: Stitches
SC: Single Crochet
DC: Double Crochet
SP: Space
Ch: Chain
Sl St: Slip Stitch
Gauge: 12 sts wide x 5 rows tall in Granny Stitch = 4"
Measurements inches (what I made):
Width (laying dress flat after seaming) : 22"
Length (top of shoulder to bottom of skirt): 40"
To replicate the colours of Taylor's dress, work up in this order:
Lilac Mist
Lilac Mist
Thicket
Ivory
Thicket

Conch

Top Panel (make 2):
Chain with a multiple of 3 + 2
Ch 107
Row 1 Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch st across. Ch 3, turn.
Row 2 DC in same st as ch3, *sk 2 sts, 3dc in next stitch; repeat from * across row until final stitch, make 2dc in last stitch. Ch 3, turn.
Row 3 3dc in sp between dc clusters, repeat across the row to last stitch, make one dc in top of last st of row. Ch 3, turn.
Row 4 DC in same st as ch 3, 3dc in each space across row until final stitch, make 2dc in last st of row.
Repeat rows 3 and 4 until 20 rows are complete.
Or continue pattern until desired rows are complete.
Skirt Panel:
(Tip: after the first 4 rows are complete, try it on around the widest part of your thighs/bottom to ensure it will fit. If you need to add/remove from the width, you will start again)
Chain with a multiple of 3 + 2

Row 4 DC in same st as ch 3, 3dc in each space across row until final stitch, make 2dc in last st of row.
Repeat rows 3 and 4 until 22 rows are complete.
Or continue pattern until desired rows are complete. (make the skirt longer or shorter)

Creating the v-neck:
Lay identical top panels vertically and side by side, seam center leaving an opening for the neck
