OTH Last Minute C2C Advent Calendar

Could I not be any more last minute with my crochet Advent calendar!?

Life has been busy and I set a goal in

September to start and finish this....well hello end of November!

Where did 2024 go? Just flew by.

Good news though, if you are looking for a quick, very easy, beginner friendly, crochet Advent calendar.....this is it.

It's basic C2C for the long rectangle (I just used the red colour until the skein ran out and then started with green) and just a granny square for each number. That's it.

You can do this in a few days for sure....if life doesn't keep getting in the way.

But hey, it gave me a creative name for this pattern....as I'm completing this a few days before December 1st!

Use any colours you'd like and get creative with the numbers.

I found the Advent numbers online, here is the LINK.

Have fun with this and enjoy filling in all the surprises!

OTH Crochet Nook Pattern: Twas the Night Before C2C Advent Calendar

Hook: 5mm

Yarn: Any worsted yarn will do. I used BRAVA TWEED in Poinsettia and Wreath for the background. The granny squares I used IN LOVE in Sand

C2C finished size: 38" x 17"

Granny square size: 4" x 4"

Scissors

Tapestry Needle

Using C2C Crochet, follow the graph below.
Granny Squares for the numbers, make 24:

Legend:
CH = Chain(s)
SL ST = Slip Stitch
DC = Double Crochet
SP = space
STS = Stitches

Note: the [brackets] in the pattern indicate the stitches that are worked in a chain 2 space

Ch 5, sl st in 1st chain to join.

ROUND 1: (inside circle)
Ch 3, 2DC, Ch 2, 3DC, ch 2, 3DC, ch 2, 3DC, ch 2.
Sl st in the top of the chain to join.

ROUND 2: (in ch 2 spaces)
Ch 4. *[3DC, ch 2, 3DC], ch 2. Repeat from * two more times. In last ch 2 space: [3DC, ch 2, 2DC], sl st in 2nd chain in the ch 4

Sl st and fasten off.
Optional: I completed 3 sides of each square with the Poinsetta  and Wreath colours using just single crochets.

Attach granny squares:
Using a tapestry needle, attach each square and place them wherever you'd like.

Add numbers:
I purchased felt numbers online that had an adhesive backing, it was so quick and easy!

Attach wood stick (optional):
Get creative on how you'd like to hang this.
I had wood stick that I've had forever, and this was the perfect time to use it.
Attach the stick by crocheting around the stick when you pull up a loop:

Insert hook in stitch, pull up a loop from under the stick, yarn over, and pull through all loops.

Weave in all the ends and enjoy this handmade Advent calendar every December.
Happy Holidays!

I'd love to see yours!
